Project Director, Dermatology, Rheumatology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Manage a portfolio or program of clinical studies along with the Project Managers responsible for their execution.

• Ensure that studies comply with therapeutic-area or client-specific criteria.

• Act as the company's representative to clients, ensuring satisfaction and effective communication regarding deliverables.

• Guarantee that studies adhere to quality standards, SOPs, GCPs, ICH guidelines, and relevant regulations.

• Oversee the management of executed contracts and the financial aspects of projects, including budgets and expenses.

• Maintain project timelines and utilize tracking/analysis tools.

• Retain comprehensive therapeutic and client-specific expertise.

• Implement study-specific insights throughout the assigned portfolio.

• Lead contingency planning and develop risk mitigation strategies.

• Provide operational input for proposals, pricing, and strategic operations.

• Foster performance enhancement, operational efficiency, and innovation.

• Offer line-management oversight and contribute to Project Management leadership.

• Operate from a home-based setting in Germany, with regular travel commitments.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in clinical project management, covering all phases from start-up to closure, including all functional services and vendor management.

• Experience in conducting dermatology or rheumatology trials is essential.

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.

• At least 15 years of experience in the industry and a minimum of 5 years within a CRO.

• Desirable experience in managing mid-size and large studies (more than 10–15 countries) across multiple regions (NA, SA, APAC, MENA, Europe).

• Proven experience leading concurrent multicenter, multinational Phase III clinical trials, including project budget financial tracking and forecasting.

• Extensive experience in supervising, mentoring, and coaching project managers.

• Significant experience with business development activities, including proposals, client presentations, and bid defense meetings.

• Familiarity with Good Clinical Practices and relevant Health Canada and FDA regulations/guidelines.

• PMP or PRINCE2 certification is advantageous.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in Germany.
