Project Director, Commercial Nuclear Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Report to the Senior Director of Commercial Nuclear Services.

• Oversee all elements of designated AtkinsRéalis new nuclear and fuel cycle initiatives.

• Direct AtkinsRéalis project team members.

• Create work execution plans, work breakdown structures, deliverables, organizational charts, budgets, schedules, subcontract and supplier strategies, risk management plans, project forecasts, and personnel forecasts and leveling.

• Set exemplary standards for Health & Safety and Nuclear Safety Culture.

• Guide the project organization in alignment with AtkinsRéalis core values.

• Form project teams through recruitment, interviews, and/or staff selection.

• Implement training and development programs.

• Collaborate with functional managers and Integrated Project Delivery partner companies.

• Ensure work advances in accordance with safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contractual obligations.

• Define project scopes and deliverable specifications in line with contracts and customer expectations.

• Manage contracts, scope and change control, requirements, subcontractors, suppliers, and flow-down requirements.

• Supervise nuclear and industrial safety programs, training, corrective actions, and performance standards.

• Utilize key performance indicators and establish project reporting frameworks.

• Ensure adherence to ethical, cybersecurity, import-export, intellectual property, and security clearance standards.

• Oversee procurement, subcontract management, supplier performance, invoicing, accruals, and supply chain strategies.

• Implement project controls for planning, scheduling, cost management, budgeting, cash flow, invoicing, forecasting, and resource allocation.

• Develop and execute detailed project execution plans and report to clients and senior management.

• Conduct risk analyses utilizing industry best practices, Monte Carlo methodology, and contingency draw-down curves.

• Maintain connections with clients, partners, suppliers, and project stakeholders.

• Prepare and obtain approvals for project bids, modifications, and settlements in accordance with corporate Level of Authority procedures.

• Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience is required.

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the commercial nuclear sector.

• At least 10 years of project management experience.

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in team leadership.

• Experience in a live Nuclear environment is essential.

• Proven successful management experience.

• Demonstrated technical and managerial competencies.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to scope, task, and manage work assigned to a diverse team.

• Capacity to independently and critically evaluate Engineering work products, offering technical guidance, feedback, mentorship, and quality control.

• Ability to engage constructively with internal and external customers.

• Self-motivated individual capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision.

• Experience and judgment in a creative and flexible manner.

• Understanding of building and sustaining strong multidisciplinary teams.

• Experience with new design and construction projects in Nuclear Reactors.

• Familiarity with large EPC work, including subcontract and prime contract management.

• Knowledge of nuclear supply chain and materials management principles.

• Appreciation for Quality Assurance Programs and their importance in the nuclear industry.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer relationship skills.

• Understanding of project delivery methodologies, including earned value, critical path scheduling, prime contract and subcontract management, procurement and supply chain methodologies, construction work packaging, and associated inspection and test plans.

• Working knowledge of industrial safety and nuclear safety culture.

• Experience in an Integrated Project Delivery model.

• Must be a U.S. citizen to be considered.
