This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +1 more state.
• Ensure accurate management of project cost data encompassing budgets, current costs, commitments, variances, forecasts, and cash flow tracking.
• Create and sustain project cost reports, forecasts, estimate-to-complete forecasts, and conduct variance analyses.
• Deliver insights on primary cost drivers and recommend corrective measures.
• Spearhead the monthly project forecasting cycle, coordinating contributions and validating updates.
• Prepare presentations and reports for executive-level forecasts.
• Generate consolidated financial reports for projects, which include milestone summaries, incurred costs, accruals, cost variances, and performance metrics based on progress.
• Gather and verify field progress data for productivity, earned progress, and cost-impact reporting.
• Monitor potential and approved change orders, their budget ramifications, and requests for subcontractor changes.
• Assist with contracts and commercial tasks, including invoicing needs, payment applications, compliance documentation, and project initiation.
• Maintain project systems to align with contract structures, WBS, cost codes, budgets, and forecasting requirements.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to pinpoint risks, cost exposures, mitigation strategies, and impacts on schedules.
• Review and authorize timesheets, identify cost allocation discrepancies, and coordinate necessary corrections.
• Facilitate the continuous enhancement of project control processes, standards, tools, and reporting.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in project controls, cost control, project accounting, or construction finance.
• Preferred experience in high-voltage electrical construction, renewable energy, or heavy civil construction.
• Familiarity with cost tracking principles, including budget management, commitments, cost-to-complete forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience in producing project financial reports for project leadership and internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge of contract-driven invoice processes and the common documentation requirements that support them.
• Proficient in Excel, including the use of structured templates and accurate analysis.
• Excellent organizational skills and a keen attention to detail.
• Capability to manage weekly deadlines across various projects.
• Strong communication skills to engage effectively with Project Managers, field teams, procurement, and accounting.
• Must successfully complete pre-employment professional reference checks and a criminal background check.
