Project Accountant II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Deliver comprehensive life-cycle project accounting support to Project Managers.

• Assess project financial performance and offer insights regarding project health, risks, and opportunities.

• Recognize potential project performance challenges and relay findings to the Regional Project Accounting Manager.

• Facilitate project setup activities to guarantee compliance with contract stipulations and approval protocols.

• Examine contracts to comprehend project scope, billing conditions, funding necessities, and project frameworks.

• Maintain project documentation within Oracle and oversee project funding and budget revisions.

• Generate monthly project reports and furnish detailed financial commentary, which includes unbilled and unearned revenue analysis.

• Engage in project performance review meetings and extend financial guidance to project teams.

• Assist Project Managers and Department Managers by providing financial data, proposal assistance, pricing analysis, budgeting, audits, and special initiatives.

• Track outstanding accounts receivable and collaborate with Project Managers on collection strategies.

• Aid in addressing invoicing challenges and formulating corrective action plans to enhance payment timing.

• Ensure project revenue recognition adheres to company policies and accounting standards.

• Support the financial evaluation of projects, which includes assessing cost-to-complete estimates and revenue recognition.

• Take ownership of ongoing project accounting and deliver complete life-cycle financial oversight and support.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, project accounting, or a comparable role.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for collaborating effectively with Project Managers and business leaders.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Preferred: Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Preferred: CPA, CMA, or other pertinent professional certification.

• Preferred: Experience in supporting internal or external audits.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Oracle Project Accounting modules or a similar ERP platform.

• Preferred: Background in supporting project-based businesses, engineering, consulting, or professional services organizations.
