This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee two CDC-funded initiatives in collaboration with the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials.
• Act as both project facilitator and project manager for the respective projects.
• Direct project planning and execution, coordinate project teams, nurture partner relationships, and supervise daily operations.
• Attend project-specific meetings as well as those required by CAHC, NACDD, and CDC.
• Administer contractual processes and ensure that subject matter experts and vendors meet their scopes of work.
• Oversee budgets, contract submissions, and expenditures related to the project.
• Facilitate jurisdictional relationships and services within the Pacific and Caribbean regions.
• Coordinate program planning, execution, and evaluation/reporting in partnership with ASTHO and CDC.
• Align and coordinate NACDD staff, subject matter experts, and vendors throughout the projects.
• Communicate project progress through meetings, reports, and updates.
• Develop timelines and ensure the completion of workplan activities.
• Lead project meetings and training sessions, including preparing agendas, guiding discussions, summarizing outcomes, and following up.
• Identify opportunities for cross-program collaboration and resource sharing.
• Assess and convey the impact of the project.
• Collaborate on evaluation and communication efforts.
• Provide support to other programs within the Diabetes Portfolio, CAHC, and NACDD as required.
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Sociology, Public Health, or other health-related disciplines.
• Between five (5) to seven (7) years of relevant experience in planning, implementing, and leading chronic disease prevention and/or health promotion programs.
• Proven experience working with the CDC or other federal agencies on state-level chronic disease prevention and health promotion initiatives.
• Familiarity with projects or initiatives involving U.S. Territories and Freely Associated States (T/FAS).
• Experience in organizing and delivering context-specific meetings, training, and/or technical assistance.
• Background in managing work plans, particularly in relation to grants and cooperative agreements.
• Experience in developing tools and resources, facilitating meetings, and creating peer-to-peer learning opportunities, along with giving presentations.
• Strong skills in project management, prioritization, and planning.
• Exceptional multitasking, problem-solving, budget management, interpersonal, organizational, oral, and written communication abilities.
• Proficiency in grant writing and management.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong familiarity with virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom or Teams and project management tools like Smartsheet.
• Must be available for meetings from 5–9pm EST, Monday through Thursday, and be adaptable to time zones across U.S. Territories and Freely Associated States.
• Willingness to travel as required.
• A Master’s degree in Public Health, Public Health Administration, or a related field is preferred.
• Prior experience in associations or nonprofits is preferred.
• Previous experience with state, county, or local health departments is preferred.
• Experience in diabetes prevention or diabetes self-management programs is preferred.
• Proficiency in languages spoken in U.S. Territories and Freely Associated States is advantageous but not mandatory.
