Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and oversee one or more large-scale, intricate programs involving both internal and external stakeholders as well as matrixed partners.

• Act as the primary accountable individual for strategizing, planning, orchestrating, and delivering programs or initiatives.

• Propel and support multiple workstreams to fulfill program objectives.

• Ensure outcomes align with defined scope and measurable business benefits.

• Manage and consult with clients to fulfill contractual obligations.

• Supervise third-party vendors as necessary.

• Update key stakeholders, including external clients, on assigned initiatives.

• Facilitate working sessions with clients and stakeholders to plan initiatives, gather requirements and business processes, and ensure successful results.

• Chair recurring meetings for program teams, client teams, and stakeholders.

• Maintain effective communication across teams and various stakeholder levels.

• Establish and uphold program documentation.

• Define and monitor milestones through a comprehensive program plan.

• Produce regular status updates.

• Ensure compliance with PMO Standard Operating Procedures.

• Align both internal and external program resources.

• Manage scope, timelines, costs, and quality effectively.

• Anticipate and address risks and issues, escalating as necessary.

• Establish and oversee budgets, confirm forecasts, and reconcile expenditures.

• Coach, mentor, and lead teams to enhance efficiency and quality while lowering costs.

• Make daily decisions in line with corporate strategy and program goals.

• Represent initiatives and/or the PMO in governance and inter-departmental forums.

• Suggest improvements for project delivery and the PMO department.

• Manage and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

• Travel for client meetings and training related to projects may be necessary.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of ten years’ experience in project/program management related to software development and/or IT projects, or a comparable field.

• At least five years’ experience in a client-facing role delivering complex software implementations, IT projects, or management consulting services.

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline or engineering.

• Preferred experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech, or healthcare hub services sectors.

• Management consulting experience is preferred.

• PMP, CSM, PSM I/II certification(s) are preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to quickly gain the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders, including clients.

• Capacity to motivate and engage teams.

• Ability to establish direction and approach.

• Proficiency in conflict resolution.

• Capability to deliver difficult messages gracefully.

• Competence in building extensive, collaborative networks.

• Must maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

• Extensive travel is required (60% travel).
