This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Serve as the main finance business partner for designated Country Offices throughout the program and award lifecycle.
• Oversee financial evaluations and the creation of proposal budgets, budget narratives, cost allocation methods, and donor submissions.
• Provide financial leadership during Go/No-Go discussions, evaluating funding opportunities, financial risks, cost recovery, and operational viability.
• Monitor financial performance of the portfolio through analysis of budget versus actuals, pipeline tracking, and financial forecasting.
• Identify financial risks and suggest corrective measures.
• Assist Country Offices in creating multi-year budgets and funding forecasts.
• Spot funding gaps and potential opportunities for portfolio expansion.
• Ensure adherence to donor regulations, organizational policies, and financial procedures across grants, awards, and partnerships.
• Engage in portfolio evaluations, discussions regarding country programs, and award management processes.
• Aid in audit preparation, risk mitigation initiatives, grant closure processes, and implementation of audit recommendations.
• Provide training, mentoring, and capacity-building to country teams on donor compliance, financial management, and grant budgeting.
• Collaborate with Country Finance Managers, Program Desks, Awards Management, Partnerships, and other support functions.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in program finance, grant financial management, and donor-funded awards within an INGO or non-profit setting.
• Proficient in donor compliance, proposal budget creation, award financial oversight, budget modifications, cost extensions, no-cost extensions, and financial reporting.
• Strong comprehension of major institutional donor regulations and financial requirements.
• Experience in supporting Country Finance teams and working collaboratively with program, awards, and partnerships colleagues.
• Exceptional analytical abilities to interpret financial data, identify risks, and offer practical recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems.
• Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite, donor financial reporting templates, and grant monitoring systems is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Arabic and/or French is a plus.
• Capability to work remotely from a Relief International operational country.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 20% of the time.
• Successful completion of criminal records self-declaration, references, and other pre-employment checks.
