This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Transform state-specific strategies into collaborative initiatives across teams, including owners, timelines, and success metrics.
• Oversee the priorities of Senior Directors and SVPs, focusing attention on high-impact tasks.
• Organize cross-functional meetings to discuss state strategies.
• Take responsibility for tracking and reporting on the progress of state-specific goals.
• Identify and address any misalignments with state strategies before they escalate into issues.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that monitor goal progress, relationship health, revenue trends, and execution gaps.
• Provide internal updates regarding the performance of the state portfolio, including risks, successes, and suggested adjustments.
• Monitor revenue gaps and identify growth opportunities within existing state partnerships.
• Keep cross-functional plans updated and facilitate execution among sales, product, and policy teams.
• Stay informed about state policy changes that could impact ACT’s market position.
• Lead collaborative working sessions across teams to align priorities, resolve conflicts, and sustain momentum.
• Escalate and redirect tasks that are inconsistent with the state strategy.
• Recognize organizational gaps and collaborate with division leaders to develop solutions.
• Promote accountability, transparency, and alignment with the mission among senior leadership.
• Acquire knowledge of ACT’s target state portfolio and create foundational documentation for state strategies within the first 90 days.
• Map workflows, pinpoint coordination gaps, enhance tracking resources, and cultivate relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Manage comprehensive resources for state strategy coordination and establish a leadership reporting schedule during the first year.
• Over 7 years of experience in strategy, program/project management, or cross-functional operations within a matrixed organization.
• Capacity to coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives across teams without direct authority.
• Strong analytical abilities to convert data and relationship insights into actionable strategies.
• Proven experience in creating and maintaining tracking systems, dashboards, or reporting tools tailored for executive audiences.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in managing competing priorities while communicating with both diplomacy and directness.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to recognize conflicting priorities and missed opportunities.
• Skilled in influencing others without authority through credibility, clarity, and effective relationships.
• Strong accountability orientation and commitment to follow-through.
• Cross-functional experience in sales, product, policy, and operations contexts.
• Ability to distill complex dynamics of state portfolios into concise, decision-ready summaries for senior leadership.
• Sound judgment to work independently or escalate issues as necessary.
• Bachelor’s degree in education policy, public policy, economics, statistics, data science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in K-12 education policy, state government relations, or education sales environments is a plus.
• Background in a chief of staff or similar role is advantageous.
• Familiarity with state procurement processes, education agency relationships, or statewide assessment markets is a plus.
• Experience in revenue operations, sales strategy, or account-based planning is beneficial.
• Experience in or with a revenue-generating organization is an asset.
