This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Lead, mentor, and nurture a high-performing team of financial analysts focused on advanced healthcare analytics and financial modeling.
• Establish and execute standards, best practices, and training initiatives for financial analytics throughout UW Health.
• Provide strategic guidance for UW Health’s financial modeling and decision-support platforms, such as Strata cost accounting and the enterprise data warehouse financial resources.
• Collaborate with operational, clinical, and executive leaders to create financial forecasts, business plans, pro formas, and return-on-investment analyses.
• Convert complex analytical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for executive leadership.
• Promote ongoing enhancement of financial analytics capabilities, methodologies, documentation, and governance.
• Assist with significant organizational investments, service line expansion opportunities, operational transformations, and other strategic initiatives through data-driven financial analysis.
• Assess growth opportunities along with operational and financial performance.
• Offer insights that guide executive planning, strategic initiatives, and organizational decision-making.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Required.
• Proven success in applying knowledge of healthcare finance, cost accounting, and revenue modeling to enhance financial performance for the system. Required.
• Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams that deliver enterprise-wide data and analytics solutions. Required.
• Proven track record in advancing data literacy and data governance. Required.
• Established success as a project leader for cross-functional enterprise initiatives, including agile delivery. Required.
• Proven ability to form and maintain collaborative, trusted-advisor relationships. Required.
• Advanced capability in healthcare financial analysis utilizing large, complex datasets and enterprise data warehouse resources.
• Strong comprehension of healthcare operations, including hospital and ambulatory services, reimbursement methodologies, and revenue cycle processes.
• Experience in developing pro forma financial statements, business cases, and return-on-investment analyses.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare cost accounting methodologies.
• Ability to articulate complex financial concepts and analytical findings to executive and operational leaders.
• Established experience in leading, coaching, and developing high-performing analytical teams.
• Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Preferred.
• Ten (10) years of extensive project and leadership management experience with a positive trajectory leading to increased responsibility and leadership based on proven success. Preferred.
• Ten (10) years of demonstrated experience and success in leading finance-oriented initiatives within an academic medical center or large integrated health system. Preferred.
• Membership in and certification from professional associations such as ACHE, AMIA, HIMMS, INFORMS, PMI, TDWI, HFMA. Preferred.
