📋 Description

• Conduct advanced specialty professional coding for intricate surgical cases.

• Act as a subject matter expert to uphold coding accuracy, reimbursement integrity, and regulatory compliance.

• Code intricate specialty surgical encounters and analyze operative reports and clinical documentation to assign precise procedure codes.

• Implement advanced modifier logic and coding principles to guarantee compliant and optimal reimbursement.

• Address escalated coding issues and maintain consistency in specialty coding practices.

• Collaborate with coding teams and operational stakeholders to resolve challenging specialty coding issues.

• Articulate coding rationale and documentation requirements to stakeholders.

• Tackle complex and ambiguous coding scenarios with minimal guidance.

• Promote consistency and minimize variation in complex coding practices.

• Ensure that coding outcomes align with reimbursement, reporting, and compliance objectives.

• Apply updated coding guidelines and encourage the adoption of best practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of coding experience.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

• One of the following credentials: AHIMA-RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), AHIMA-RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), AHIMA-CCS (Certified Coding Specialist), AAPC-CPC (Certified Professional Coder), AAPC-CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder), or AAPC-COC (Certified Outpatient Coder).

• Daily responsibilities involve applying advanced specialty coding to intricate surgical encounters.

• Capable of interpreting operative reports and clinical documentation to assign accurate surgical codes.

• Proficient in utilizing modifier logic and coding principles to ensure compliant reimbursement.

• Skilled in resolving complex coding scenarios with consistency and precision.

• Surgical CPT coding experience is preferred.
