This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborate closely with the Academic Field Sales team to foster growth in the Midwest and West markets.
• Market and sell solutions from the Research & Analytics portfolio, including Web of Science, Web of Science Research Intelligence, InCites, and Pivot-RP to universities.
• Take ownership of a product-driven sales strategy and develop a robust sales pipeline.
• Enhance deal sizes and promote cross-selling opportunities among existing Academic clients.
• Assist in acquiring selective new logos.
• Meet sales objectives for designated products and territories.
• Independently identify and pursue new business opportunities, collaborating with Account Managers as needed.
• Design and deliver value-added solutions leveraging product expertise.
• Build and sustain a healthy sales pipeline while accelerating sales processes through effective negotiation techniques.
• Establish and maintain customer relationships via communication, service excellence, and proactive problem-solving.
• Work alongside Account Managers and commercial teams to formulate product sales plans and strategies.
• Create and present reports detailing activities, customer interactions, pipeline status, sales forecasts, and closing timelines.
• Consult with cross-functional teams on sales initiatives and new business opportunities.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of the market, industry, and products.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in research platform solutions, APIs, or similar integrations, custom data sets, reports, or a combination of these with consultancy services for Academic clients.
• Previous sales experience and extensive knowledge of the US Academic Market.
• Familiarity with academic bids and tenders.
• Experience in higher education.
• A proven track record in business development.
• Expertise in account development through proactive prospecting.
• Strong discovery skills to comprehend customer workflows and content requirements.
• Capacity to build solid customer relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Consistent success in meeting commercial targets in a complex sales environment.
• Availability for full-time work during core business hours in the relevant time zone.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the Central and Mountain states.
• Eligibility for incentive or bonus earnings.
• Option for remote work.
• Flexibility to modify working hours to accommodate various global time zones as required.
