This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Collaborate with the Academic Field Sales team to promote growth in the Midwest and West regions.
• Market research and analytics solutions such as Web of Science, Web of Science Research Intelligence, InCites, and Pivot-RP to universities.
• Lead product-focused sales strategies and develop a robust sales pipeline.
• Enhance deal sizes and encourage cross-selling opportunities within existing Academic clients.
• Assist in acquiring selective new logos.
• Meet sales objectives for designated products and territories.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities independently and alongside Account Managers.
• Design and deliver value-added solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Manage and maintain the sales pipeline, while enhancing deal size and accelerating the sales cycle through effective sales and negotiation tactics.
• Build and maintain customer relationships via effective communication, service, and proactive problem resolution.
• Partner with Account Managers and commercial teams on sales planning and strategy.
• Create and present reports detailing activities, customer engagements, pipeline status, sales forecasts, and closing timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on sales campaigns and new business initiatives.
• Continuously enhance knowledge of market trends, industry developments, and product offerings.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in research platform solutions, APIs or other integrations, custom data sets, reports, or related consulting services for Academic clients.
• Previous sales experience and comprehensive knowledge of the US Academic Market.
• Experience with academic bids and tenders is preferred.
• Background in higher education is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in business development is preferred.
• Experience in account development through proactive prospecting is preferred.
• Strong discovery skills to comprehend customer workflows and content requirements are preferred.
• Ability to establish strong relationships with senior stakeholders is preferred.
• Consistent achievement of commercial goals in a complex sales setting is preferred.
• Must be able to work primarily during core business hours in the employee's time zone.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% within the Central and Mountain states.
• Eligibility for incentive or bonus earnings.
