Product Owner – Supply Planning

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Create and implement a strategic roadmap for the demand forecasting and planning module.

• Serve as the customer advocate, ensuring the product effectively addresses real challenges and enhances business outcomes.

• Collaborate with development and UI/UX teams to design the optimal product and develop both internal and external launch strategies.

• Engage daily with engineers, QA, and UX within a squad to plan, develop, and deliver product enhancements.

• Identify planner exceptions and enhance visibility to build trust in order plan recommendations.

• Convert the daily tasks of supply planners into clear and actionable requirements.

• Manage and adjust backlog priorities, balancing long-term goals with immediate iterations.

• Differentiate between essential features and desirable enhancements.

• Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to comprehend issues and workflow intricacies.

• Partner with UI/UX to create intuitive and seamless workflows.

• Facilitate go-to-market readiness by showcasing and positioning new functionalities.

• Track post-launch adoption and assess improvements in accuracy, time efficiency, or decision-making quality.

• Leverage AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, and Copilot to expedite repetitive tasks while applying human discretion.

• Critically assess AI outputs and identify when human intervention is necessary for decision-making.

• Oversee the backlog utilizing high-level canvases, detailed stories, and specifications.

• Compose clear user stories and acceptance criteria based on genuine use cases.

• Engage in agile planning, estimation, retrospectives, and standup meetings.

• Collaborate with development and QA teams to prioritize, review, and approve squad deliverables.

• Validate assumptions and gather customer feedback throughout the product lifecycle, including during mockups and beta phases.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in supply planning and inventory management.

• Strong grasp of forecasting, lead times, safety stock, BOMs, capacity, and replenishment logic.

• Experience with commercial planning software on a daily basis, not limited to Excel.

• High technical aptitude and willingness to learn system functionalities and analyze data.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.

• A curious mindset, problem-solving abilities, and empathy for end users.

• Proficiency in prioritizing, multitasking, and making informed decisions in a dynamic environment.

• Willingness and capacity to work regular business hours within the Eastern time zone.
