Product Owner I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Gather requirements, refine tasks, oversee dependencies, and manage backlog priorities for the Controlled Substances Reporting team.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and account management teams to ensure timely delivery of customer-facing reporting products.

• Learn from senior team members and provide insights and assistance in various product ownership activities.

• Define reporting requirements and deliver high-quality products within budget and on schedule.

• Break down work into user stories with clear acceptance criteria, plan sprints, prioritize tickets, and refine the backlog.

• Ensure that stories, acceptance criteria, dependencies, and requirements are well-defined and ready for development.

• Communicate product status, progress, and upcoming releases to stakeholders, executives, and customers.

• Create and maintain product documentation, including user guides and data dictionaries.

• Monitor product metrics and analytics to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.

• Investigate workflow enhancements through AI or automation tools.

• Oversee the entire report development process from defining requirements to customer launch.

• Own and maintain the internal short-term roadmap while assisting in planning the medium- and long-term roadmap.

• Identify risks, dependencies, gaps, and blockers, and provide recommendations for future product improvements.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a product owner with data-related technologies or in a data engineering organization.

• A strong desire and willingness to learn about product management and product development concepts, methodologies, and best practices.

• Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.

• Knowledge of SQL, Python, or similar programming languages.

• Understanding of data ingestion, storage, and analytics concepts and technologies.

• Experience in supporting or leading projects that involve multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple priorities and dependencies simultaneously.

• Comfort with using or learning AI-assisted tools such as ChatGPT, CoPilot, or similar role-specific tools.

• A forward-thinking, curious mindset with a willingness to experiment with new technologies.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating sound judgment and creativity in solution design.

• Proven track record of thriving in fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing environments.

• Ability to work effectively in a remote-first setting.
