Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Sri Lanka.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and oversee the product backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic business goals, customer requirements, market potential, and product roadmaps.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering teams, and stakeholders to establish product vision, release schedules, priorities, and delivery goals.

• Collect, assess, and document business and product requirements from customers, internal stakeholders, market trends, and competitive analysis.

• Convert requirements into actionable product deliverables.

• Lead product releases by ensuring clarity of requirements, managing dependencies, mitigating risks, and keeping delivery on schedule.

• Foster customer relationships and serve as an advocate for users by incorporating feedback and evolving needs into the product roadmap.

• Provide regular updates on product development, release status, priorities, risks, and key decisions to Product Managers and stakeholders.

• Collaborate across departments including Professional Services, Sales, Customer Support, Marketing, and Engineering teams to facilitate the adoption and delivery of enhancements and releases.

• Develop and maintain product documentation, which includes business requirements, business cases, release plans, feature specifications, and communications regarding the product.

• Encourage innovation, continuous improvement, functionality, usability, customer value, and operational efficiency.

• Assist in product demonstrations, customer presentations, onboarding processes, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is required.

• At least 6 years of experience in a Product Owner, Senior Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar product delivery role within a software product organization is required.

• Experience with international customers is preferred.

• Proven track record in managing product backlogs, defining requirements, prioritizing tasks, and supporting successful product delivery in Agile environments.

• Strong capability to translate business needs into clearly defined product requirements and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to articulate complex concepts clearly, confidently, and professionally.

• Excellent skills in stakeholder management, facilitation, presentations, negotiation, and building consensus.

• Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills, time management abilities, and a disciplined approach to executing product initiatives.

• Experience working closely with software engineering teams and a solid understanding of modern software development lifecycles, Agile methodologies, and product delivery practices.

• Demonstrated ability to handle competing priorities, proactively identify risks, and drive initiatives towards successful outcomes.

• Expertise in the healthcare, clinical systems, healthcare technology, or care management domains is considered a strong advantage.

• Professional certifications in Product Ownership, Product Management, Agile Product Delivery, Business Analysis, or related fields will be viewed favorably.

• A technical background with the ability to understand software products, system capabilities, and technical constraints will be advantageous.
