This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Convert prioritized product initiatives and epics into comprehensive functional and technical requirements, which include user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Oversee and maintain the product backlog for designated product areas or engineering teams.
• Guarantee that backlog items are well-defined, prioritized, and prepared for development.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to synchronize backlog priorities and delivery strategies with product vision and roadmap initiatives.
• Work alongside Engineering, Design, and Quality teams to clarify requirements and assist with implementation.
• Lead or facilitate backlog refinement sessions and ensure that stories adhere to Definition of Ready standards.
• Keep functional and technical documentation accurate and up-to-date.
• Engage in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Partner with QA and engineering teams to establish acceptance criteria and validate functionality and quality.
• Identify and communicate risks, dependencies, and ambiguities that may impact delivery timelines or solution quality.
• Promote continuous improvement in delivery processes, documentation practices, and backlog management standards.
• Act as the operational link between product strategy and engineering execution.
• Ensure backlog quality and delivery readiness for the designated product domain or engineering team.
• Travel for client engagements, conferences, and networking may be required up to 25% of the time.
• 2–5 years of experience in a product, business analysis, delivery, or technical role within a SaaS or technology context.
• Experience working with agile development teams and familiarity with Scrum or comparable iterative delivery frameworks.
• Proficiency in translating business or product requirements into clear functional specifications or user stories.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail in documentation and requirements definition.
• Familiarity with JIRA or similar backlog management tools.
• Capability to collaborate effectively with Product Management, Engineering, and Design teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, QA analyst, or in a similar delivery-oriented role.
• Knowledge of backlog refinement, sprint planning, and agile delivery ceremonies.
• Experience supporting software development teams that deliver SaaS or enterprise software solutions.
• Background in regulated or complex product environments such as life sciences, financial services, healthcare, or enterprise SaaS.
• Exposure to API-based systems, integrations, or platform-oriented products.
• Experience contributing to documentation, testing support, or release readiness activities within a product development lifecycle.
• Successful candidates must complete and successfully pass reference and background checks.
