Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Latin America.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Product Manager to articulate and convey a product vision and roadmap that aligns with business objectives, technical sustainability, and modernization goals.

• Effectively prioritize and manage the product backlog autonomously, encompassing features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Balance operational requirements, technical debt, dependencies, constraints, and business value.

• Facilitate backlog refinement and requirements discussions, guide sprint planning, and engage in Agile ceremonies.

• Assist with life insurance conversion and modernization requirements, dependencies, and acceptance criteria for transitions from legacy mainframes to modern administration systems.

• Oversee validation, testing, cutover, and operational readiness while ensuring policy data integrity, managing downstream impacts, and guaranteeing service continuity.

• Convert business requirements into actionable technical specifications.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, engineering, and architecture teams to enhance current-system supportability, mitigate technology risks, and synchronize modernization scope and feasibility.

• Work with UX/UI and engineering teams to create usable, technically feasible solutions and champion CI/CD principles.

• Leverage data and success metrics to assess outcomes, communicate progress, identify gaps, escalate risks, and revise priorities.

• Foster cross-functional relationships, mentor team members, share domain expertise, and contribute to ongoing process enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a Product Owner in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) or comparable development setting.

• Strong comprehension of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), technical requirements, technical limitations, and UX/UI considerations.

• Demonstrated ability to convert business strategies into actionable technical tasks and manage complex, competing priorities.

• Solid mastery of Agile and Scrum practices, including backlog prioritization, user story creation, acceptance criteria formulation, and sprint planning.

• Excellent cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder negotiation, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making abilities.

• Advanced/Fluent English (both written and spoken) with excellent communication skills for direct engagement with U.S. stakeholders.

• Residing in LATAM.

• Experience in Life Insurance Conversion: transitioning policies from legacy mainframe platforms to current administration systems, covering requirements, data mapping, reconciliation, testing, cutover, and post-conversion stabilization.

• Background in financial services and extensive knowledge of life insurance administration platforms.

• Practical experience in Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environments utilizing tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Relevant Product Owner certification (e.g., PSPO, CSPO, SAFe POPM).
