Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the main point of contact between business stakeholders and the Data & Analytics team.

• Manage, enhance, and prioritize the backlog for data products, reporting solutions, and analytics improvements.

• Convert business requirements into user stories, specifications, and acceptance criteria.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and solution evaluations.

• Track progress, highlight dependencies, and escalate any risks.

• Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to grasp challenges, opportunities, and reporting requirements.

• Work alongside data engineers, analysts, and architects to create viable and effective solutions.

• Provide business context and user scenarios for data modeling, reporting, visualization, and pipeline development.

• Lead efforts in data governance and maintain documentation of data assets, including definitions, metadata, ownership, and dependencies.

• Ensure consistency and quality across data products and reporting solutions.

• Oversee data assets and pinpoint opportunities for enhancement, optimization, or retirement.

• Create and implement UAT plans and testing scenarios.

• Verify the accuracy, usability, and alignment of solutions with requirements.

• Document issues, coordinate solutions, and confirm remediation.

• Assist in implementation and monitor initial production performance and user adoption.

• Develop release communications, user guides, training materials, and supporting documentation.

• Facilitate or assist in training sessions.

• Collect and analyze feedback to identify areas for enhancement.

• Define and track KPIs that measure business value, adoption, and effectiveness.

• Suggest improvements to tools, processes, and delivery practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field is preferred.

• A valid driver's license is required.

• 3–5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, product ownership, or a similar role.

• Experience in Agile or product-centric environments is preferred.

• Background in supporting or leading data governance initiatives is preferred.

• Experience in gathering requirements and translating business needs into actionable deliverables.

• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to provide technology or data-related solutions.
