Product Owner

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the product strategy, roadmap, requirements, UI design direction, business process definition, reporting and data requirements, and prioritization for a designated portfolio of operations and utilization review tools.

• Act as the accountable business owner for user acceptance testing, business readiness, and the adoption of delivered solutions.

• Serve as the main point of consultation with Architecture, Engineering, and QA teams throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Track progress against roadmap commitments and adjust priorities as business needs evolve.

• Oversee the intake process for new requests and enhancements, evaluating business value, complexity, urgency, and dependencies.

• Facilitate discussions on prioritization and document decisions related to scope, priorities, and funding.

• Keep visibility on active, pending, and future initiatives, aligning business demand with delivery capacity.

• Lead sessions for requirements gathering, discovery workshops, and reviews of business processes.

• Document current and future state processes while defining functional, UI, data, reporting, integration, and non-functional requirements.

• Ensure traceability between requirements, user stories, testing, and delivered functionalities.

• Manage changes to requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

• Create and maintain product backlogs, epics, features, and user stories.

• Prioritize items in the backlog and engage in backlog grooming and sprint planning activities.

• Clarify requirements during both development and testing phases.

• Define business priorities and delivery expectations, collaborating on estimates and delivery plans.

• Set milestones and release targets, monitor roadmap execution, and communicate any schedule adjustments.

• Coordinate activities for business readiness prior to releases.

• Identify and mitigate risks related to business, operations, compliance, and stakeholders.

• Manage communications with stakeholders and support organizational readiness and training/adoption efforts.

• Coordinate UAT, validate solutions against requirements and acceptance criteria, and facilitate the prioritization of defects.

• Define release objectives and success metrics, coordinating communications with stakeholders.

• Ensure that training materials and job aids are accessible and support the deployment of products in production.

• Measure adoption rates and business outcomes after releases.

• Monitor product adoption and utilization, collect feedback, identify enhancements, and continuously improve products, processes, and user experiences.

• Maintain a long-term product strategy and roadmap.

• Consult with Architecture, Engineering, and QA on feasibility, standards, requirements, test strategy, and release readiness.

• Ensure that HIPAA, utilization review, and healthcare regulatory requirements are incorporated into business requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

• At least 3 to 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Product Analyst.

• Preferred experience in health insurance, healthcare, or managed care settings; experience in utilization management is a plus.

• Proven track record of owning a product backlog or roadmap and making prioritization decisions based on business value, risk, and cost.

• Strong experience in writing detailed, testable business requirements and user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.

• Experience in coordinating UAT and business readiness activities, including stakeholder communication and training/adoption planning.

• Comfortable working within a defined RACI model.

• Working knowledge of Jira or similar tools for backlog management, sprint planning, and requirements traceability.

• Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting and dashboard tools is preferred.

• Strong understanding of utilization review operations, healthcare regulatory requirements, and the company's clients, products, and workflows.

• Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations.

• Ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.

• Must pass a background check and drug screening before or upon starting employment.
