Product Owner – AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Product Managers to refine the backlog and prioritize tasks, organizing work based on value, dependencies, and capacity.

• Create development-ready stories and requirements by deconstructing epics and features into user stories, acceptance criteria, and high-level non-functional requirements.

• Assume Product Manager responsibilities as needed when PM capacity or capability is limited.

• Work alongside development teams to ensure stories are comprehended and aligned with business objectives.

• Engage in and facilitate User Acceptance Testing to verify the functionality delivered.

• Monitor and communicate delivery visibility, risks, dependencies, and performance insights to stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and MLOps teams to convert AI/ML capabilities into actionable backlog items.

• Identify risks, capacity issues, and reallocation suggestions to Product Managers.

• Assist in sprint ceremonies, product demonstrations, walkthroughs, and stakeholder communications.

• Act as a subject matter expert for solution workflows and capabilities.

• Oversee the performance of deployed AI features, monitoring for drift and user feedback, and highlight retraining or tuning needs as backlog items.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.

• Consideration will be given to equivalent combinations of education, professional certifications, and relevant work experience.

• A minimum of five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• Required experience includes business analysis, requirements definition, or supporting product delivery.

• Preferred experience in claims, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated operational environments.

• Experience working within agile or hybrid delivery teams is preferred.

• Preferred experience supporting AI, machine learning, or data-driven product initiatives.

• Strong skills in product and requirements documentation are essential.

• Capability to translate business needs into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Familiarity with agile delivery practices and backlog management is important.

• Ability to evaluate scope, dependencies, and delivery complexity.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are required.

• Experience in tracking delivery metrics and supporting OKR reporting is necessary.

• Ability to understand and communicate the impacts of budget and delivery trade-offs.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.

• Strong skills in cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management are essential.

• Ability to meet or exceed performance competencies is expected.
