This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Design, develop, and evaluate software solutions tailored for K-12 educational environments.
• Create, implement, and test RESTful web services utilizing NodeJS, Google Apps Script, and Postman.
• Leverage AWS services for the construction, hosting, and maintenance of application environments.
• Manage source code repositories and implement branching/merging strategies using Git.
• Analyze and troubleshoot technical and application-related issues.
• Offer analysis and support for troubleshooting production problems and code deployment processes.
• Contribute to the design and development of user interfaces.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, and product stakeholders.
• Set up and manage SIS, LMS, and third-party integration systems for both existing and new schools.
• Partner with enrollment and development teams on intricate data mapping within the learning ecosystem.
• Oversee daily system operations.
• Work alongside school personnel, administrators, and operational teams to identify anomalies and ensure prompt resolution.
• Execute routine maintenance and application updates on servers/instances.
• Liaise with vendors regarding maintenance impacts and communicate updates to affected parties through the Incident/Maintenance team.
• Collaborate with departments and teams on projects, data requests, automation, and customized reports.
• Develop and maintain documentation and provide training to corporate staff as necessary.
• Support systems during school year-end procedures and annual transitions.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical or electronics engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience managing complex systems/integrations such as Canvas LMS, SIS, and Clever Integrations.
• Strong technical ability to learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and backend reporting.
• Experience in developing solutions based on open standards, including web services, web applications, and modern user interfaces.
• Substantial, demonstrable experience in implementing features across the software development team and environment.
• Capability to design, write, edit, modify, and debug code aimed at automating manual tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of relational databases and proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with message queue technologies and design patterns.
• 3+ years of experience with NodeJS.
• 3+ years of experience with JavaScript.
• Familiarity with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, EC2, CloudFront, and Redshift.
• Experience with the Amazon Web Services API.
• Proficiency in Git version control.
• Background in Unix/Linux environments.
• Experience with ticket tracking and resolution processes for end users.
• Ability to successfully complete federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).
