This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.
• Develop, implement, and test software solutions tailored for the learning environments of K-12 schools.
• Create, implement, and test RESTful web services utilizing NodeJS, Google Apps Script, and Postman.
• Leverage AWS services to construct, host, and manage application environments.
• Oversee source code repositories and manage branching/merging strategies using Git.
• Identify and resolve technical and application-related challenges.
• Offer analysis and troubleshooting assistance for production issues and code deployments.
• Participate in the design and development of user interfaces.
• Collaborate effectively with developers, testers, and product owners.
• Set up and manage SIS, LMS, and third-party integrations for both existing and new schools.
• Work alongside enrollment and development teams to facilitate complex data mapping within the learning ecosystem.
• Manage daily systems operations.
• Diagnose system anomalies and address issues in coordination with school staff, administrators, and operational teams.
• Conduct routine maintenance and application updates on servers and instances.
• Liaise with vendors regarding maintenance impacts and communicate with affected stakeholders.
• Assist with projects, data requests, automation, and custom reports across various departments.
• Develop and maintain documentation and provide training to corporate staff as required.
• Support systems during year-end activities and annual rollovers for schools.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical or electronics engineering, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or a comparable degree.
• Experience in administering complex systems/integrations such as Canvas LMS, SIS, and Clever Integrations.
• Strong technical aptitude for learning new systems, processes, and backend reporting.
• Experience in developing open standards-based solutions, including web services, web applications, and modern user interfaces.
• Significant, demonstrable experience in implementing features across various software development teams and environments.
• Proven ability to design, write, edit, modify, and debug code aimed at automating manual tasks.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of relational databases and proficiency in SQL.
• Familiarity with message queue technology and design patterns.
• Over 3 years of experience with NodeJS.
• Over 3 years of experience with JavaScript.
• Familiarity with AWS services including S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS, EC2, CloudFront, and Redshift.
• Experience with the Amazon Web Services API.
• Proficient in using Git for version control.
• Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Background in ticket tracking and resolving issues for end users.
• Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks (FBI/BCI).
