This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Take ownership of the product strategy, roadmap, and priorities concerning tax withholding and associated tax reporting functionalities.
• Act as the primary product leader and subject matter expert on withholding regulations, processing frameworks, and compliance mandates across equities, mutual funds, fixed income, and options.
• Collaborate with Tax, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and Technology teams to devise and implement solutions.
• Convert IRS regulations, tax guidance, and industry standards into product specifications, feature definitions, business rules, and functional capabilities.
• Define and oversee the product backlog, which includes epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization.
• Lead product discovery initiatives and current-state evaluations to pinpoint process deficiencies, control vulnerabilities, operational risks, and automation possibilities.
• Spearhead the design and enhancement of withholding calculations, tax lot accounting, tax reporting workflows, downstream integrations, data controls, reconciliations, and exception management functionalities.
• Collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to ensure scalable and feasible solutions that adhere to enterprise standards.
• Establish success metrics and track accuracy, compliance, operational efficiency, and risk mitigation outcomes.
• Support end-to-end delivery processes, including requirements clarification, dependency management, stakeholder alignment, testing, implementation planning, and post-release validation.
• Oversee the onboarding process for new clients onto the tax withholding platform, which encompasses setup, requirements gathering, data mapping and validation, testing, issue resolution, and production readiness.
• Coordinate the conversion and migration of account, tax, security, position, and reference data.
• Lead or assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, release readiness, and resolution of production issues.
• Manage product governance, documentation, and control frameworks to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance reviews.
• Communicate updates on the roadmap, risks, issues, and delivery status to stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Keep abreast of industry and regulatory developments and integrate necessary changes into the product roadmap.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 8–10+ years of experience in product management, business analysis, or product delivery within the financial services sector, including brokerage, wealth management, asset servicing, or tax operations.
• Extensive experience in owning or supporting products related to tax withholding, tax reporting, securities processing, or post-trade operations.
• In-depth knowledge of withholding processes, tax lot accounting, and tax reporting obligations.
• Direct experience with tax and regulatory mandates that influence withholding and reporting.
• Strong comprehension of broker-dealer operations, post-trade processing, custody, and lifecycle events of securities.
• Capability to translate complex regulatory and operational requirements into product solutions and technology outputs.
• Experience in managing product backlogs, setting priorities, defining requirements, and executing cross-functional delivery in Agile, Scrum, or hybrid settings.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, including reconciliations, root cause analysis, impact assessments, and exception management.
• Experience in supporting testing, defect management, release planning, and production support for intricate financial systems.
• Experience in managing and onboarding new clients for tax withholding platforms, which includes setup/configuration, requirements gathering, testing, data conversion/migration, validation, and implementation.
• Experience in coordinating client implementations from the initial setup through testing, conversion, go-live, and post-production stabilization.
• Proficient in JIRA, Confluence, Excel, SQL, Visio, or similar tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong organizational and execution skills in a deadline-driven, highly regulated environment.
• Preferred: Familiarity with complex intermediary structures and flow-through entities.
• Preferred: Experience with brokerage back-office systems, withholding engines, or tax reporting platforms.
• Preferred: Knowledge of DTCC processing, corporate actions, securities reference data, and dependencies related to position/account master data.
• Preferred: Experience with regulatory change management, audit support, and control framework design.
• Preferred: Professional certifications such as CSPO, CBAP, PMP, CPA, or CFA.
• Preferred: Experience leading product initiatives within enterprise transformation, platform modernization, or operational risk reduction programs.
