Product Manager, Payments – Checkout

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take responsibility for the roadmap concerning checkout conversion, payment authorization efficiency, fraud risk, and payment acceptance economics.

• Identify and eliminate obstacles within the payment process while conducting experiments to enhance completion rates.

• Collaborate with processors and networks to minimize declines and recover failed transactions.

• Increase the usage of Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) options while broadening alternative payment methods.

• Balance growth in conversion rates with fraud risk, utilizing risk management tools and protocols.

• Oversee and assess payment processors, BNPL providers, and wallet partners.

• Enhance vendor agreements, performance metrics, and overall acceptance costs.

• Decrease blended transaction acceptance expenses as both volume and average order values rise.

• Align the roadmap directly with transaction growth, average order value, and payment cost efficiency.

• Work closely with BNPL, processing, and wallet vendors, alongside engineering, design, and data teams.

• Proven experience in delivering product changes that resulted in measurable business impacts.

• Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with engineering, design, and data teams.

• Ability to operate effectively at any level, from hands-on tasks to developing multi-quarter strategies.

• Background in managing payments, checkout, or fraud/risk within a consumer marketplace, fintech, or high-volume e-commerce setting.

• Understanding of authorization, processing, payment routing, conversion, and cost mechanics.

• Experience in managing vendor and processor relationships, including negotiating terms and assessing new partners.

• Data-driven mindset with proficiency in SQL/analytics to identify and address funnel and payment performance challenges.
