Product Manager, OpenRouter Connect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the OpenRouter Connect roadmap from start to finish, encompassing prioritization and requirements for partner integration and onboarding, provisioning APIs, controls and guardrails for each customer and end-user, usage visibility, and billing.

• Establish strategy by identifying target partner segments, defining competitive positioning, and setting objectives for partner and end-user activation, engagement, and retention.

• Collaborate closely with design partners through prospect and integration discussions, remove obstacles for engineers, and convert partner and end-customer requirements into the roadmap.

• Work alongside engineering and design teams to make decisions about scope and sequencing, delivering quickly, iteratively, with high quality and a strong developer experience.

• Create reusable Connect abstractions instead of one-off integrations.

• Advocate for the inclusion of missing management endpoints, analytics dimensions, and guardrail primitives into the core OpenRouter product.

• Collaborate with Partnerships and Finance to shape Connect’s business model and commercial agreements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of product management or founder experience in developing platform, API, or infrastructure products utilized by engineers from other companies.

• Proven experience in delivering partner-driven, multi-tenant products.

• Familiarity with tenant, identity, and billing considerations within B2B2B or B2B2Dev products.

• Demonstrated zero-to-one success in transitioning a product from design partner phase to general availability.

• A proactive mindset and a strong inclination towards action.

• Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to articulate thoughts clearly and frequently.

• Strong technical acumen.

• Capability to read API specifications and utilize SDKs effectively.

• Experience in reviewing observability and product metrics.

• Understanding of customer-facing API surfaces, authentication models, partner integrations, usage metering, and tenant isolation.

• Nice to have: experience in a developer platform, LLM operations, AI gateway company, or in building embedded/OEM infrastructure solutions.

• Nice to have: familiarity with enterprise access, budget management, and DLP controls.

• Nice to have: experience with delegated administration, end-user identity, and per-tenant policy management.

• Nice to have: experience in usage-based billing and reporting, including metering, invoicing, or revenue sharing.

• Nice to have: insight into the model and provider ecosystem or existing usage of OpenRouter.
