Product Manager – Core, Storage

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Establish and implement product strategy across cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and storage elements.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on system architecture, RFCs, design evaluations, and technical specifications.

• Propel product innovation in performance engineering, scalability, and infrastructure optimization.

• Conduct competitive analysis and guide product direction utilizing data and market insights.

• Work together with CPU, GPU, storage, and networking hardware vendors to develop integrated, performance-optimized solutions.

• Align the roadmap and delivery across virtualization, cloud management platforms, and infrastructure tools for CSPs, MSPs, and enterprise providers.

• Coordinate cross-product initiatives and ensure integration with both internal and external tools.

• Recognize emerging technology trends and steer long-term innovation investments.

• Assist in defining and enforcing product quality KPIs, customer use cases, and performance metrics.

• Direct strategic product direction for Virtuozzo's core platform offerings across Virtuozzo Infrastructure and Virtuozzo Storage.

⛳️ Requirements

• In-depth technical knowledge in virtualization, storage, or networking and security within distributed systems.

• Proficiency in containers, hypervisors, orchestration, or GPU virtualization.

• Expertise in block, file, or object storage, including erasure coding, tiering, caching, or replication.

• Experience in drafting Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) with comprehensive technical details.

• Capability to align engineers, architects, and kernel developers around common product objectives.

• Proven experience leading technical design discussions and architecture assessments.

• Familiarity with participating in RFC processes.

• Strong cross-functional leadership experience in QA, DevOps, SRE, benchmarking, and compliance.

• Knowledge of FIPS, GDPR, and PCI-DSS standards.

• Ability to analyze performance metrics, define KPIs, and make data-driven product decisions.

• Experience collaborating on patentable technologies or filing IP in infrastructure sectors.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to foster alignment between product, engineering, and field teams.

• 5+ years of experience in technical product management OR 5+ years of practical experience in OS/storage/networking development or system-level Linux administration.
