Product Manager – Core Engineering, Security Features

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the real-time analytics and cloud database sectors, including competition and technological trends.

• Interact with the ClickHouse open-source user community and ClickHouse Cloud customers to grasp both current and aspirational use cases for the core ClickHouse database.

• Analyze and prioritize feature requests and issues, translating them into clear action items for new capabilities and enhancements.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to define and refine strategies for addressing customer challenges in the core database and ClickHouse Cloud products.

• Establish specific, measurable objectives related to customer success and utilize data-driven methods to ensure that new features align with customer requirements.

• Remain informed about market trends and the competitive environment to pinpoint necessary features and areas for improvement that align with the roadmap and community/customer feedback.

• Partner with others to enhance ClickHouse's visibility and awareness in the market.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience with database security principles and industry best practices.

• Understanding of data engineering sectors, including data warehousing, analytics, security, and observability.

• A strong vision for the future trajectory of these markets.

• Prior in-depth technical experience with ClickHouse or a closely related OLAP technology.

• Previous involvement in open-source projects, preferably in a product management role.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Capability to influence a variety of stakeholders without direct authority.

• Comfort in navigating ambiguity and adapting to evolving business needs.

• Willingness and enthusiasm to work with customers or community members, offering technical guidance and support during proof-of-concept phases.

• Bonus: Prior contributions to open-source projects.

• Bonus: Engineering experience, particularly with distributed/cloud systems in C++.
