Product Manager – Bus Transport Operations (m/f/d)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Design and continually refine running times and scheduled headways for BVG bus operations.

• Undertake extensive analytical tasks to guarantee a customer-focused, transport-contract-compliant, and cost-effective scheduled service.

• Generate running-time specifications for the standard timetable utilizing HASTUS.

• Examine running times and establish timetables with minute-by-minute headways, considering connections and cost-efficient service provision.

• Conceptualize, develop, and implement plausibility checks and modifications to the standard timetable.

• Prepare requests for timetable changes for regular network operations.

• Evaluate cost-effectiveness and calculate the necessary effort for modifications to the standard timetable.

• Analyze medium- and long-term changes to transport service needs.

• Assess transport-contract-relevant key performance indicators related to running times, demand trends, punctuality, reliability, and connection security.

• Document and further enhance running times and timetables with minute-by-minute headways.

• Formulate requirements for vehicle needs and deployment.

• Address customer inquiries regarding the regular timetable service.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed training as a Skilled Public Transport Operator, qualification as a specialist in passenger transport and mobility, or several years of equivalent professional experience.

• Professional experience in the transport industry is a plus.

• Familiarity with transport planning systems such as IVU.suite, HASTUS, RBL/ITCS, or QKZ.

• Knowledge of the Berlin Roads Act, the VBB route network, the German Road Traffic Regulations (StVO), Book IX of the German Social Code (SGB IX), the Staff Representation Act (PersVG), the Berlin Equality Act (LGG), and the Regulation on the Operation of Motor Vehicle Companies in Passenger Transport (BOKraft).
