This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Take full ownership of Empyrean ALM’s roadmap and backlog from start to finish.
• Perform customer interviews, observe ALM managers and analysts, and personally test usability.
• Identify requirements across current-position data, reconciliation, chart of accounts and consolidation, scenario and shock design, NII/EVE and gap analytics, funds transfer pricing, as well as ALCO and regulatory reporting.
• Comprehend balance sheet risk management in financial institutions, including IRR policies, limits, ALCO cadence, model governance, audit trails, and expectations from examiners.
• Convert customer insights into a prioritized, validated roadmap along with clear engineering specifications.
• Draft detailed functional requirements for intricate financial calculations and workflows.
• Collaborate continuously with ALM engineering on backlog refinement, requirement clarification, feature trade-offs, architecture, data models, and decisions regarding the calculation engine.
• Evaluate delivered functionality against actual customer workflows.
• Influence stakeholders in engineering, sales, customer success, professional services, and executive teams.
• Convey roadmap priorities and trade-offs to technical, executive, and ALM audiences.
• Work in conjunction with product marketing and sales on positioning, enablement, and demand generation.
• Leverage product usage data and user feedback to prioritize enhancements and foster adoption.
• Simplify product complexity while balancing new capabilities with technical debt, performance, calculation accuracy, and platform integrity.
• Report to the Product Director of Balance Sheet Risk Solutions and engage daily with product and ALM engineering teams.
• A minimum of 5 years of product management experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise software.
• A proven history of delivering complex products that are valuable and utilized by customers.
• Direct and hands-on experience in customer discovery.
• Proficient in defining detailed functional requirements for software that involves complex calculations or data.
• Strong technical skills, encompassing system architecture, data models, APIs, and integration patterns.
• Experience engaging with enterprise buyers and navigating intricate stakeholder environments.
• Capability to establish roadmap strategy and make informed prioritization decisions under constraints.
• Preferred: experience in asset/liability management, interest rate risk, bank/credit union treasury, or similar regulated and quantitatively complex sectors.
• Preferred: understanding of financial accounting principles.
• Preferred: familiarity with Jobs-to-be-Done and structured discovery techniques.
• Preferred: experience in optimizing and extending a mature, established product.
• Working hours should align with the Eastern Time Zone.
• Ability to conduct customer research, articulate precise requirements, prioritize tasks, and manage backlogs effectively.
• Strong communication skills to convey complex topics clearly to engineers, executives, and ALM practitioners.
• Ability to work independently amidst ambiguity and make logic-based trade-offs.
