This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +1 more state.
• Develop the product strategy and long-term vision for the Enterprise Ontology Platform.
• Manage the complete product roadmap, balancing short-term business objectives with long-term platform scalability.
• Convert ambiguous or conflicting business requirements into clear product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Oversee the backlog using a data-driven methodology while balancing feature development, technical debt, and production support.
• Establish and monitor platform success metrics to guide prioritization efforts.
• Act as the main point of contact between the Ontology Platform and the engineering leadership of the Foundational Data Platform.
• Identify capability gaps and conduct build-versus-leverage evaluations.
• Clearly articulate foundational platform requirements and drive prioritization across various roadmaps.
• Monitor platform dependencies and proactively highlight any delivery risks.
• Ensure a versatile and extensible framework for business-managed ontology definitions.
• Collaborate with the Engineering Lead to shape configuration workflows and interaction models.
• Design workflows for identifying, prioritizing, and resolving data disruptions.
• Partner with Data Governance and Compliance teams to ensure alignment with data standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collect requirements from business stakeholders, facilitate alignment, and set expectations for delivery.
• Communicate the roadmap, trade-offs, and progress updates to both business and senior stakeholders.
• Engage in technical design discussions, representing the product and business perspective.
• Track dependencies originating from business teams relating to ontology definitions, mappings, and rules or criteria for breaks.
• Integrate business-dependency timelines into the product roadmap.
• 5-8 years of experience in Product Management within data-intensive platforms such as MDM, Knowledge Graphs, Data Mesh, or Enterprise Data Warehousing.
• Strong comprehension of data modeling principles.
• Proficient in discussing graph databases (RDF, SPARQL, Property Graphs), APIs, and ETL/ELT patterns with engineering teams.
• Proven track record of managing dependencies on a platform that relies on a separate infrastructure or foundational team.
• Capability to navigate through complex and messy data environments, synthesizing a clean and canonical structure from conflicting source definitions.
• Outstanding stakeholder management abilities with both technical engineering leads and non-technical business executives.
• Experience in Financial Services or another highly regulated industry is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with ontology standards (OWL, RDF) or experience in building Knowledge Graphs is a plus.
• Experience with metadata management tools or data cataloging software is advantageous.
• Leading a team through the “0 to 1” stage of a product launch in a large corporate setting is a plus, though not mandatory.
