Product Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take charge of prioritizing customer commitments, managing support escalations, enhancing reliability, and exploring new opportunities.

• Engage directly with customers, join Customer Engineering and Sales discussions, and evaluate proposed solutions at an early stage.

• Collaborate with engineers and designers to translate priorities into requirements, user stories, success criteria, and project plans.

• Assess technical limitations and balance costs when exploring various options.

• Keep an up-to-date understanding of contractual obligations and exploratory projects.

• Provide guidance to go-to-market teams regarding commitments, discussion topics, and timelines.

• Document anticipated benefits and key assumptions related to investments.

• Monitor adoption and outcomes, applying insights to inform future decisions.

• Influence Socket’s product strategy and establish scalable product practices for prioritization, trade-offs, success metrics, roadmapping, and communication.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in product management, preferably with developer-facing, security, or infrastructure products in a B2B SaaS context.

• Proven ability to make difficult prioritization decisions within real capacity constraints.

• Skill in defining product boundaries and making trade-offs clear.

• Technical fluency adequate for collaboration with engineers and customers, including an understanding of CI/CD pipelines and lockfiles.

• Proficient in customer discovery and problem validation techniques.

• Capability to influence Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales, and leadership without formal authority.

• Strong instincts for project management, including identifying risks and managing changes in scope or timelines.

• Clear and concise written communication skills suitable for asynchronous collaboration.

• A builder mindset with the ability to establish product practices from scratch.

• Preferred: experience in software supply chain security, application security, vulnerability management, or security platforms.

• Preferred: experience in developing products for developers or security teams.

• Preferred: familiarity with enterprise software evaluation, technical sales cycles, and customer-driven roadmap pressures.

• Preferred: experience as an early or first dedicated Product Manager.
