Product Line Director, DC Power – BESS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Establish the strategy, roadmap, and business justification for DC power, including 800VDC/HVDC distribution, DC PDUs, power conversion, and BESS.

• Determine market-entry priorities in sectors such as AI infrastructure, hyperscale, colocation, utilities, and industrial applications.

• Create solution architectures that integrate DC distribution, BESS, control systems, thermal management, and modular infrastructure.

• Oversee strategic partnerships with OEMs, battery suppliers, power conversion manufacturers, and grid management collaborators.

• Evaluate options for building, buying, licensing, and partnering on new technologies and product capabilities.

• Formulate product specifications, investment proposals, pricing strategies, and plans for commercialization.

• Align NPI and technology development initiatives with Engineering, Compliance, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, and Services teams.

• Outline certification, safety, and regulatory pathways for DC and BESS products.

• Create technical positioning and solution narratives aimed at customers and strategic partners.

• Develop the organizational structure and operational model necessary to scale the category into a dedicated product line and team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Systems Business, or a related field; MBA is preferred.

• Over 7 years of experience in power systems, energy storage, electrical distribution, power conversion, critical infrastructure, or related fields.

• In-depth knowledge of DC architectures, power electronics, BESS, protection controls, and electrical safety standards.

• Preferred experience in data centers, microgrids, renewable integration, grid-interactive solutions, or AI infrastructure.

• Proven success in commercializing emerging technologies through product development, partnerships, or alliances.

• Strong financial acuity and commercial skills, including market analysis, business case development, pricing strategies, and partner economics.

• Familiarity with UL, IEC, NFPA, and energy-storage safety standards is preferred.

• Capacity to operate autonomously in a dynamic market and to build organizational capabilities over time.

• Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
