This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Lead and carry out nuclear licensing activities from initial concept to production and operational phases.

• Identify and assess regulatory and engineering requirements.

• Develop alternative licensing concepts and conduct regulatory analyses and evaluations.

• Choose and implement licensing strategies and deliverables.

• Ensure that the licensing framework is accurately verified, integrated, and executed.

• Oversee administrative tasks and assist in schedule planning.

• Uphold a strong safety culture in all work activities.

• Review relevant regulatory and industry standards, conveying them to the design community.

• Engage in product compliance and certification efforts, including testing and design review.

• Liaise with engineering firms and government agencies to facilitate product certification or qualification.

• Manage a team of senior professionals and others, ranging from small to medium size.

• Shape strategy, resource management, and policy development for the area of responsibility.

• Suggest best practices to enhance products, processes, or services.

• Make informed decisions and address complex operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering challenges.

• Lead functional teams or projects.

• Coordinate Regulatory Affairs interactions with other GE Vernova teams.

• Support assigned industry organizations, including NEI, INPO, IAEA, and WNA.

• Acquire a working knowledge of nuclear licensing basis documents and regulatory correspondence for active BWRX-300 projects.

• Gain a working knowledge of BWRX-300 design and licensing risks.

• Convey challenging technical concepts and influence stakeholders effectively.

• Exhibit behaviors that align with a robust Nuclear Safety Culture.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in nuclear regulated design, operations, or licensing.

• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or management capacity.

• Familiarity with USNRC Regulations 10 CFR Parts 50, 52, and 21.

• Experience in leading the development of a design certification application, construction permit application, or combined operating license application.

• Proven experience leading oral and written communications with the USNRC, ACS, and senior NRC staff members.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a site security clearance, including NRC-required background check.

• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally (10%).

• Strong business and financial understanding.

• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, facilitation, oral, and written communication abilities.

• Proficiency in working effectively with senior executives.

• Strong program and project management skills.

• Proficient with PCs.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable.
