This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage the licensing activities for US nuclear products.

• Create and enhance licensing deliverables from initial concept to production and operational phases.

• Identify and assess regulatory and engineering requirements.

• Develop alternative licensing strategies and conduct regulatory analyses and evaluations.

• Choose and execute licensing plans and deliverables.

• Ensure that the licensing foundation is accurately verified, integrated, and applied.

• Oversee communications with the USNRC, ACS, and senior NRC personnel.

• Manage administrative responsibilities and assist in schedule planning.

• Approach tasks with urgency while upholding high quality and safety standards.

• Review relevant regulatory and industry standards and relay them to the design community.

• Engage in product compliance and certification efforts, including testing and design evaluations.

• Collaborate with engineering firms and government agencies to achieve product certification or qualification.

• Supervise a small to medium-sized team of senior professionals and other staff.

• Influence strategic decisions, resource management, and policy development in the area of responsibility.

• Suggest best practices to enhance products, processes, or services.

• Make informed decisions and manage complex operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering tasks.

• Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and complexity.

• Coordinate Regulatory Affairs interactions with other GVH teams.

• Support designated industry organizations such as NEI, INPO, IAEA, and WNA.

• Acquire a working knowledge of nuclear licensing basis documents, regulatory correspondence records, BWRX-300 design, and licensing risks.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.

• At least 8+ years of experience in nuclear regulated design, operations, or licensing.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership or management position.

• Familiarity with USNRC Regulations 10 CFR Parts 50, 52, and 21.

• Proven experience in leading the development of a design certification application, construction permit application, or combined operating license application.

• Successful track record in leading both oral and written communications with the USNRC, ACS, and senior NRC officials.

• Ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a site security clearance, including the NRC-required background check.

• Willingness and ability to travel occasionally (10%).

• Capacity to evaluate potential impacts of the regulatory environment on business and clients.

• Strong business and financial insight.

• Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities, including facilitation skills.

• Effectiveness in collaborating with senior executives.

• Strong oral and written communication abilities.

• Clear and credible communication on technical matters.

• Strong program/project management capabilities.

• Proficient in PC usage.

• Eligibility to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information, if applicable.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Successful completion of a drug screening, as applicable.
