Product Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable business partner for product and engineering teams throughout the entire product lifecycle.

• Provide guidance on product development, artificial intelligence, data privacy, emerging technologies, and international regulatory standards.

• Identify and evaluate legal and global regulatory risks linked to products and services.

• Create and execute strategies to address and lessen legal and compliance risks.

• Lead cross-functional initiatives throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Keep abreast of legal changes in privacy, AI, financial services, and global regulations.

• Offer thought leadership and strategic counsel to internal stakeholders.

• Draft, review, and negotiate partnership agreements, supply chain contracts, and customer-facing terms.

• Collaborate with external legal counsel on intricate global issues.

• Assist in commercial transactions and strategic partnerships.

• Contribute to additional legal projects as needed by the business.

• Provide legal training to members of the legal team and business stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD), with admission to at least one state bar.

• Minimum of 3 years of significant legal experience.

• Ideally, experience within the in-house legal team of a SaaS organization.

• Proven knowledge of AI and data privacy laws and regulations.

• Strong grasp of emerging technologies.

• Experience advising on AI-driven products and services.

• Practical understanding of customer-driven development dynamics.

• Familiarity with open source, including advising companies on open-source policies and remediation.

• Experience navigating legal and regulatory challenges in global markets.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong project management capabilities.

• Collaborative and proactive mindset, with a passion for innovation.

• Understanding of the SaaS industry and its legal complexities.

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and excel in a fast-paced environment.

• A sense of curiosity and eagerness to tackle new challenges.
