This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Develop and manage a comprehensive Health Information Technology (HIT) strategy, roadmap, and annual execution plan at the enterprise or portfolio level.
• Create a vision for utilizing HIT, Electronic Health Records (EHRs), digital health, data, AI, and emerging technologies to enhance health systems and patient care.
• Analyze trends within health systems, technology capabilities, customer demands, and market conditions.
• Act as a subject matter expert and strategic advisor on HIT, EHR functionalities, digital health, AI, and emergent technologies.
• Foster alignment among senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Collaborate with health-system and integrated account teams to pinpoint customer challenges and technology-driven solutions.
• Convert customer requirements into HIT opportunities throughout the patient journey.
• Facilitate strategic engagement with clinical teams, population health, informatics, pharmacy, quality, CIO, CMIO, and technology stakeholders.
• Direct the strategy and development of EHR-supported and digital resources.
• Assess clinical decision support, patient identification, care-gap identification, workflows, referral pathways, order sets, outreach, dashboards, reporting, and population health tools.
• Ensure that solutions effectively address interoperability, workflow integration, scalability, usability, compliance, and measurable impact.
• Implement a test-learn-scale methodology for innovative health technology and digital health solutions.
• Review AI, automation, advanced analytics, digital health platforms, interoperability capabilities, and innovative data solutions.
• Lead pilot programs and proof-of-concept projects with health systems, internal teams, and external technology partners.
• Transform successful pilot initiatives into repeatable and scalable organizational capabilities.
• Adhere to regulatory, legal, privacy, security, and compliance standards.
• Create resources, tools, engagement models, guidance, training, and capability development for customer-facing teams.
• Engage in strategic account planning and customer preparation.
• Lead cross-functional teams from the identification of opportunities through solution development, approval, activation, implementation, and measurement.
• Simplify complex technical concepts into understandable business and clinical strategies.
• Identify and manage strategic relationships with HIT vendors, EHR ecosystem partners, digital health companies, agencies, and external organizations.
• Oversee vendor strategy, collaborative contracting, performance management, and budget oversight.
• Define KPIs and success metrics, monitor performance, report findings to senior leadership, and integrate lessons learned into future strategies.
• Uncover opportunities to scale successful methodologies across accounts, therapeutic areas, brands, and portfolios.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, technology, pharmacy, informatics, life sciences, or a related field.
• Over 12 years of progressive experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical/biotechnology, health information technology, digital health, health-system strategy, marketing, medical affairs, market access, or related functions.
• Proven experience collaborating with health systems, integrated delivery networks, or other complex healthcare organizations.
• Comprehensive understanding of the U.S. healthcare environment, including providers, payers, health systems, population health, and EHR technology.
• Experience in formulating and executing strategies from conception through implementation and evaluation.
• Ability to operate effectively within complex, highly matrixed organizations and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication, presentation, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
• Capacity to translate intricate clinical, technical, and business concepts into actionable strategies.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and spearhead initiatives in environments with considerable ambiguity.
• Preferred: Advanced degree such as MBA, PharmD, MPH, MS in Health Informatics, or a related discipline.
• Preferred: Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Preferred: Background in HIT, EHR, clinical informatics, digital health, population health, or healthcare technology.
• Preferred: Familiarity with major EHR platforms, including Epic and Oracle Health/Cerner.
• Preferred: Experience in developing or implementing EHR-enabled solutions within health systems.
• Preferred: Experience working with integrated account teams, key account management, health-system strategy, or population health organizations.
• Preferred: Knowledge of artificial intelligence, analytics, interoperability, digital health, or emerging healthcare technologies.
• Preferred: Experience managing technology vendors and external strategic partnerships.
• Preferred: Leadership experience in people management and/or significant cross-functional team leadership.
