Product Development Manager – Human Supplements

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Oversee the technical product development of dietary and nutritional supplement items produced in North America for the H&H China market.

• Deliver comprehensive technical leadership throughout the product portfolio, from the formulation stage and feasibility evaluations to pilot trials, process validation, and full-scale production.

• Collaborate with R&D and Marketing teams in China to create unique products and ensure their successful market introduction.

• Act as the technical lead for projects related to SWISSE and BIOSTIME in the United States aimed at the China market.

• Establish and suggest product specifications; assess technical and safety feasibility; assist in claims substantiation; verify regulatory aspects; and aid in process validation.

• Facilitate technical communication with U.S.-based contract manufacturers concerning formulations, trial protocols and agreements, process development, scaling, and manufacturing controls.

• Ensure manufacturing capability and supply stability by transferring existing products to additional contract manufacturers.

• Review raw material specifications and formulation details for technical appropriateness, regulatory adherence, quality standards, and intended product claims.

• Offer technical and scientific support for consumer, customer, manufacturing, and quality-related inquiries.

• Perform literature and technical research on product trends, ingredients, and processing technologies pertinent to the dietary supplement sector.

• Cultivate and sustain relationships with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and project collaborators.

• Manage technical deliverables and priorities in alignment with project schedules.

• Engage in cross-functional project meetings to contribute insights on deliverables, timelines, technical risks, and development procedures.

• Promote continuous enhancement in new product development practices, tools, documentation, and team productivity.

• Adhere to H&H systems and protocols, including change control, document management, and relevant digital platforms.

• Report directly to the Director of Product Development for the China Market.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacy, Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific or technical field.

• At least 8 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree or 6 years with a master's degree in the dietary supplements, nutritional supplements, or a closely related manufacturing industry.

• Proven experience in developing dietary or nutritional supplement products for various markets, including successful commercialization and product launches.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.

• Comprehensive understanding of end-to-end new product development, product quality and stability assessment, food safety regulations, and applicable regulatory standards.

• Extensive expertise in dietary supplement formulation calculations, dosage forms, raw materials, manufacturing processes, scaling, and quality assurance requirements.

• Strong cross-functional collaborator who communicates efficiently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and shows a commitment to ongoing learning.

• Highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while adhering to strict timelines.

• Consistently produces high-quality work with meticulous attention to detail, sound judgment, and effective problem-solving abilities.

• Exhibits business acumen and the capacity to balance technical needs with commercial and project demands.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the United States, with occasional international or cross-regional travel.

• Flexibility in working hours is necessary; schedules may vary based on business requirements and time zones.

• Preference will be given to candidates from the West Coast.
