Product Development Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Lead and cultivate a team of Product Development Specialists by overseeing hiring, onboarding, goal-setting, coaching, performance management, and career growth.

• Prioritize and allocate team resources effectively across multiple projects.

• Ensure accountability for the quality of the pipeline, adherence to timelines, and competitiveness in the market.

• Manage the entire development lifecycle from ideation, research, ingredient sourcing, formulation, labeling, to product education through to launch.

• Utilize scientific literature to guide formulation decisions.

• Convert industry trends and competitive analyses into product concepts, executive presentations, and proposed pricing strategies.

• Oversee relationships with manufacturers and suppliers while resolving formulation challenges.

• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Quality teams to identify, assess, qualify, and onboard manufacturing partners, including conducting facility audits.

• Coordinate product launches across various departments.

• Supervise the technical documentation process and review labeling and marketing materials for precision and compliance with requirements.

• Establish and enhance standard operating procedures and workflows within the department.

• Manage software transitions, project management systems, databases, and maintain accurate development records.

• Report directly to the Director of U.S. Operations.

• Drive the development of new products across Dietary Supplement, Sports Nutrition, Food, Cosmetic, and Pet lines.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of five years of product development experience, including prior leadership or supervisory roles.

• Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a team while holding direct reports accountable.

• Comprehensive understanding of the product development lifecycle.

• Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to manage changing priorities, identify obstacles, and implement solutions.

• Capacity to initiate and lead collaborative group efforts.

• Familiarity with project management software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong analytical, mathematical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.

• Excellent networking and communication skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Traits of self-motivation, persistence, enthusiasm, and adaptability.

• Job responsibilities include extended computer usage and time spent in labs, manufacturing areas, or testing facilities.

• Capability to handle samples and prototypes, stand, walk, and occasionally lift or carry materials weighing up to 30 pounds.

• Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, odors, and noise levels, utilizing personal protective equipment as necessary.

• Some travel may be required.

• A Bachelor's degree in Product Development or a related field is preferred.

• Preferred direct experience in people management.

• Familiarity with Mercola or similar product development environments is preferred.
