Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Develop user-friendly experiences for AI-driven functionalities across web, desktop, mobile, and administrative platforms.

• Investigate interaction paradigms for generative AI, conversational interfaces, copilots, assistants, recommendations, content generation, summarization, and workflow automation.

• Design innovative agentic AI experiences that can reason, suggest actions, perform tasks, and manage multi-step workflows.

• Simplify intricate AI capabilities into straightforward interactions for business users.

• Create design patterns for prompts, suggestions, generated content, AI actions, confirmations, feedback, and human intervention.

• Lead design projects from initial discovery and concept development through prototyping, implementation, launch, and post-launch enhancement.

• Perform user research, usability studies, interviews, competitive analysis, and workflow assessments.

• Develop user journeys, workflows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.

• Assess user experiences using both qualitative and quantitative data and provide recommendations for improvement.

• Craft AI experiences that prioritize trust, transparency, user control, handling of uncertainty, error management, confirmations, undo options, escalation, and human-in-the-loop strategies.

• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Security, Privacy, and Legal teams to uphold responsible AI principles.

• Advance Intermedia's design system by integrating reusable AI interaction patterns and components.

• Work together with Product Managers, Product Owners, AI/ML engineers, software engineers, architects, researchers, and designers.

• Lead design workshops and articulate design rationale, research insights, user needs, and trade-offs.

• Offer design leadership and mentorship while advocating for customer-focused solutions.

• Keep abreast of new developments in AI technologies and interaction models.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in UI/UX, Product Design, or Interaction Design, preferably with complex SaaS or enterprise software.

• A strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design, intricate workflows, interaction design, and effective problem-solving.

• Comprehensive understanding of usability, UX/UI, interaction design, information architecture, accessibility, and human factors principles.

• Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and convert them into simple, elegant solutions.

• Experience in conducting or participating in user research and usability testing.

• High proficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, and contemporary design-system methodologies.

• Background in collaborating closely with Product Management and Engineering within an Agile software development setting.

• Strong skills in communication, presentation, collaboration, and stakeholder management.

• Capability to navigate effectively in ambiguous situations and rapidly changing requirements.

• Exceptional attention to detail while maintaining awareness of the overall product and customer experience.

• Experience in designing products or features that utilize generative AI, machine learning, or intelligent automation.

• Knowledge of large language models (LLMs) and their capabilities and constraints.

• Familiarity with conversational UX and natural language interfaces.

• Understanding of prompts, context, AI-generated content, levels of confidence and uncertainty, hallucinations, and AI feedback loops.

• Acquainted with AI agents and multi-step action patterns.

• Experience in addressing trust, transparency, explainability, privacy, and user control within AI experiences.

• Strong enthusiasm for experimenting with emerging AI tools and interaction models.
