Product Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Asia.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary legal advisor for at least two designated product areas, assisting with product development, launch, and ongoing governance.

• Take the lead in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating product documentation, user agreements, and commercial contracts.

• Offer business-focused legal guidance on product structuring, innovation, and regulatory matters across various jurisdictions.

• Work collaboratively with product managers, business leaders, compliance, and risk management teams throughout the product lifecycle.

• Improve the quality and consistency of legal documents, ensuring their enforceability and alignment with global best practices in financial markets.

• Assist in global and regional legal projects, including addressing legal and regulatory changes.

• Participate in knowledge-sharing and mentorship within the Product Legal team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with excellent academic qualifications.

• Admitted to practice in a prominent common law or civil law jurisdiction.

• 6-10 years of post-qualification experience in financial services, technology, or at a top-tier law firm.

• Specialization in margin lending, derivatives, trading, structured products, or fintech/crypto.

• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating complex terms for financial or technology products and user-facing documents.

• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks pertinent to digital assets.

• Experience with regulators such as ADGM/FSRA, ESMA, FCA, MAS, or their equivalents is a significant advantage.

• A commercial mindset with the ability to balance legal risks against business goals.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Proficiency in additional languages, particularly those relevant to the APAC region or Middle East, is beneficial.

• Capability to manage competing priorities under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.

• Comfortable working across different time zones and cultures.

• Strong teamwork skills.

• Proactive, solution-focused, and capable of working independently.
