Product Business Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Connect business requirements with engineering execution by converting ideas, requests, and specifications into clear, actionable tasks.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to examine concepts, gather feedback, and assess business needs prior to outlining work.

• Question assumptions, pinpoint gaps, and highlight conflicting requirements or unresolved inquiries.

• Identify and involve stakeholders to gather information and make decisions.

• Convert business requirements into epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Decompose initiatives into well-defined, deliverable increments in collaboration with Product and Engineering teams.

• Keep precise and up-to-date requirements and relevant context in Jira.

• Stay engaged during the delivery phase to address questions related to requirements and resolve ambiguities.

• Take part in refinement and planning sessions.

• Ensure traceability from the initial business requirement through to requirements changes and delivery.

• Recognize dependencies, overlaps, and potential impacts across Product and Platform Engineering.

• Assist in defining integrated product and platform requirements and facilitate cross-team transitions.

• Foster collaborative relationships across Product, Engineering, QA, customer-facing teams, and the broader organization.

• Interpret engineering constraints for business stakeholders and convey business needs to engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical position within software delivery.

• Strong skills in requirements gathering and analysis, including the ability to work from incomplete or ambiguous data, recognize gaps, and constructively question assumptions.

• Capability to translate business needs into epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.

• Experience with Jira and Agile software delivery teams.

• Proven experience collaborating across multiple teams with shared dependencies, changes, or overlapping requirements.

• Adequate technical understanding for discussions with engineers concerning scope, constraints, dependencies, and trade-offs.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

• Desirable: experience in a SaaS or platform engineering setting.

• Desirable: familiarity with APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities.

• Desirable: experience in process mapping or user journey mapping.

• Desirable: exposure to software release processes and change management.

• Must have pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK.

• Documentary proof of right to work required.

• Ability to successfully pass vetting and reference checks.
