Producer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee commercial, campaign, and branded photo/video productions from the initial brief and planning stages through pre-production, shooting, wrapping, and final delivery.

• Convert creative concepts and client needs into production strategies, timelines, budgets, and workflows.

• Independently handle multiple productions and workstreams, including setting priorities, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.

• Proactively identify risks and resolve issues before they impact the workflow.

• Lead pre-production meetings to align clients, creative teams, crew members, vendors, and stakeholders.

• Keep organized and precise production documentation.

• Create detailed production budgets and estimates.

• Source and negotiate with production partners, vendors, locations, crew, talent, equipment, and other resources.

• Monitor budgets, oversee actuals, manage changes, and highlight potential overages.

• Handle purchase orders, invoices, expenses, vendor payments, and production reconciliations.

• Manage production logistics, including crew, talent, locations, equipment, permits, travel, transportation, catering, insurance, and other shooting requirements.

• Assemble and manage freelance crews and production partners.

• Act as the primary production lead on set, ensuring efficient, safe, and timely execution.

• Address production challenges and make well-informed decisions.

• Manage releases, usage agreements, documentation, and other production necessities.

• Supervise wrap and reconciliation, including outstanding deliverables, documentation, invoices, and production specifics.

• Represent BRAINS with clients, agencies, creative partners, vendors, and crew members.

• Sustain and expand BRAINS’ network of production companies, vendors, crew members, locations, and specialist partners.

• Develop scalable production processes, templates, tools, and best practices.

• Enhance workflows, production planning, budgeting, and communication.

• Share production knowledge and mentor junior production team members.

• Remain up-to-date on production practices, tools, technologies, vendors, and methods.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in producing commercial, advertising, branded content, campaign, or agency photo/video productions.

• Proven experience independently leading productions from the initial scoping and budgeting stage through shooting, wrapping, and reconciliation.

• Strong familiarity with production budgets, bids, estimates, vendor negotiations, cost tracking, invoicing, and reconciliation processes.

• Established experience in sourcing and managing freelance crews, vendors, production partners, locations, talent, and other production resources.

• Significant on-set experience with the confidence and judgment necessary to lead productions independently.

• Experience working directly with clients and senior stakeholders in an agency, production company, or similarly fast-paced environment.

• Strong understanding of production documentation, including contracts, releases, usage, insurance, permits, and related requirements.

• Exceptional organizational and communication skills, capable of managing multiple projects, priorities, budgets, and deadlines concurrently.

• Proficiency in Google Workspace, Asana, and other production/project management tools.

• A robust network of production contacts and the ability to quickly source reliable resources across various production needs and markets.

• Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours as production schedules necessitate.

• A proactive and independent working style, with the judgment to know when to make decisions and when to involve others in discussions.
