This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the complete purchasing process for designated commodities and suppliers.
• Generate, track, and expedite purchase orders using NetSuite.
• Handle supplier communications related to lead times, order confirmations, shortages, and delivery challenges.
• Address discrepancies in purchase orders, invoice concerns, and receiving issues.
• Keep an eye on open purchase orders and ensure timely follow-up with suppliers.
• Assess inventory health and demand signals to avert stockouts and excess inventory situations.
• Implement purchasing strategies based on forecasts, reorder points, and business priorities.
• Collaborate with Materials Planning to align inventory investment with service levels.
• Evaluate supplier performance against lead time and delivery expectations.
• Cultivate robust relationships with suppliers.
• Identify supply chain risks and escalate mitigation strategies.
• Assist in supplier performance evaluations and ongoing improvement initiatives.
• Create and maintain Procurement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and related documentation.
• Discover opportunities to automate or streamline procurement workflows.
• Develop dashboards and reports that enhance operational visibility.
• Work together with Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, Accounts Payable, Logistics, and Planning teams.
• Communicate risks related to inventory, supplier limitations, and purchasing priorities.
• Aid in the introduction of new products and material transitions.
• Engage in cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing supply chain performance.
• Mentor and train Procurement Agents and Buyers.
• Share expertise and establish best practices within the team.
• Assist in the onboarding process for new team members.
• Act as a resource for complex procurement inquiries and escalations.
• Within the first year, ensure healthy inventory levels, enhance purchase order cycle times and supplier responsiveness, create scalable documentation and reporting, drive quantifiable process improvements, and elevate the capabilities of the Procurement team.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or inventory planning.
• Familiarity with purchasing production materials in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong experience with ERP systems; NetSuite is preferred.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
• Experience in crafting reports and analyzing inventory data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple competing requests in a fast-paced environment.
• Preferred experience in demand planning or inventory planning.
• Experience in writing SOPs and enhancing operational processes is preferred.
• Previous mentoring or leadership experience with team members is preferred.
• Knowledge of supplier performance metrics and procurement KPIs is preferred.
• Must be authorized to work legally in the United States.
• Must not need employer sponsorship or any other employer support to obtain or maintain U.S. work authorization.
