Privacy Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with the Legal team to interpret privacy regulations, company policies, and compliance requirements.

• Work alongside Product, Engineering, IT, and Security teams to convert privacy requirements into operational and technical controls.

• Spearhead privacy-by-design initiatives throughout the product development lifecycle.

• Act as the principal privacy program manager for the wearable technology project.

• Ensure that compliance is embedded within product architecture and operational workflows.

• Conduct and facilitate Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) as well as Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).

• Develop, implement, and uphold privacy policies, standards, and operational procedures.

• Coordinate cross-departmental efforts to mitigate privacy risks, handle remediation activities, and maintain ongoing compliance initiatives.

• Collaborate with Information Security on data governance, data classification, retention, and incident response efforts.

• Keep abreast of changes in privacy laws and industry best practices.

• Suggest updates to internal processes as necessary.

• Assist in vendor privacy evaluations and third-party risk assessments.

• Create training and awareness initiatives to foster privacy compliance.

• Ensure that privacy requirements are integrated early in the product development process.

• Guarantee that wearable technology initiatives are launched with documented privacy controls and compliance evaluations.

• Complete privacy reviews promptly to avoid delaying product delivery.

• Establish clear ownership and operational processes regarding privacy compliance.

• Proactively identify, document, and mitigate privacy risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Legal Studies, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in privacy, information governance, compliance, cybersecurity, product management, or a related area.

• Proven experience in collaborating with legal and technical teams to implement privacy requirements.

• Working knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA (as applicable), and other emerging privacy regulations.

• Strong project management capabilities and excellent cross-functional communication skills.

• Ability to translate legal and regulatory language into actionable business and technical specifications.

• Professional certifications such as CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or Certified Information Privacy Manager are preferred.

• Experience with connected devices, IoT, digital health, wearable technology, or consumer technology products is preferred.

• Familiarity with software development lifecycles, cloud platforms, APIs, identity management, and data governance is preferred.

• Experience in implementing Privacy by Design principles in Agile product development environments is preferred.
