Principal Technical Program Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Oversee the comprehensive delivery of intricate programs across hardware, embedded software, cloud, and mobile teams.

• Convert business strategy into executable technical milestones and plans.

• Identify technical obstacles, resource limitations, and cross-functional dependencies.

• Create strategies to mitigate risks and ensure programs remain on schedule.

• Engage in architectural discussions and address technical challenges.

• Assist teams in balancing scope, schedule, and technical debt considerations.

• Provide clear, data-informed updates to executive leadership.

• Act as the authoritative source for program health, budget, and timelines.

• Enhance the VS&A engineering execution model.

• Apply best practices from Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.

• Report directly to the Sr. Director of Software Engineering for the Avigilon Unity portfolio.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Technical Program Management or Engineering Leadership within a product development setting.

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in technical program management or engineering roles.

• Demonstrated success in Physical Security (VMS/ACS), IoT, Embedded Systems, Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/Azure), or AI/Video Analytics.

• Experience collaborating directly with executive-level leadership (VP/AVP level).

• In-depth knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and hardware development processes.

• Outstanding ability to convey complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
