This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the complete Catalysis product strategy, vision, and roadmap.
• Oversee CHIPS Act contractual obligations, scientific expertise, and the commercial expansion into new markets.
• Develop customer insights in collaboration with Application Scientists and Business Development teams.
• Convert field insights, benchmarking data, and market feedback into customer personas and prioritized product specifications.
• Transform catalysis goals into product specifications, a vertical roadmap, and evidence packages for Fulfillment Notices to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
• Establish dataset, model, chemical coverage, fidelity, and benchmarking requirements with scientific and machine learning teams.
• Propel the roadmap from property and energetics prediction towards reaction-level modeling.
• Measure customer value through yield, selectivity, catalyst longevity, energy efficiency, and reductions in emissions.
• Provide Go-to-Market, Application Science, and Business Development teams with value propositions, models, and commercialization strategies.
• Contribute to customer segmentation, offer scope, packaging, and pricing models.
• Develop and maintain strategic product-level relationships with fabs, equipment OEMs, materials suppliers, refiners, chemical producers, catalyst manufacturers, national laboratories, and validation partners.
• Define and monitor product and commercial KPIs, including model accuracy, workflow adoption, customer segment growth, and recurring revenue increases.
• Create recommendations for build-vs-buy and build-vs-partner strategies.
• Act as the primary product advocate for catalysis to program stakeholders, ecosystem partners, and potential customers.
• Determine shared versus market-specific roadmap capabilities.
• Minimum of 5 years in product management, including responsibility for a technically advanced product marketed to external customers.
• Proficient in operating within software and service-oriented business models.
• Strong foundational knowledge in materials science, catalysis, chemistry, or chemical engineering.
• Proven experience delivering AI/ML-driven scientific or engineering software to external, paying, or contracted users.
• Background in launching products where the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) was not clearly defined or where demand generation and funnel were absent.
• Participation in decisions regarding scope of offers, packaging, and pricing for technical software, or a clear commercial instinct to do so.
• Ability to engage with computational scientists and partners in the industrial, refining, chemical, or equipment OEM sectors.
• Skill in translating partner requirements into product specifications.
• Capability to think commercially across various end markets.
• Comfort in navigating significant ambiguity and converting unclear challenges into structured roadmaps, success criteria, and measurable outcomes.
• Ownership mentality and a strong track record of operational execution.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in one or more major catalysis end markets (highly sought after).
• Familiarity with computational chemistry workflows such as DFT, molecular dynamics, or microkinetic modeling (highly sought after).
• Experience in semiconductor or electronic materials process chemistry (highly sought after).
• Knowledge of homogeneous or solution-phase catalysis and heterogeneous surface chemistry (highly sought after).
• Understanding of machine-learned interatomic potentials, spin polarization in transition-metal systems, and evaluation of ML models against experimental or first-principles reference data (highly sought after).
• Proven track record in building product-led growth strategies for technical or scientific software (highly sought after).
• Previous engagement in product or business development with catalyst manufacturers, chemical producers, refiners, or semiconductor ecosystem partners (highly sought after).
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, API governance, and enterprise security and compliance requirements (highly sought after).
• Advanced degree in Computational Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Catalysis, Materials Science, or a related discipline (highly sought after).
