Forensic Structural/Civil Engineer, PE (B.S., M.S., Ph.D.)

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Assess damages resulting from water intrusion, wind, vibration, impact, adherence to construction standards, and failures of the building envelope.

• Execute site inspections and evidence evaluations utilizing 3D scanning technology and software.

• Carry out testing and failure analysis while gathering relevant data.

• Offer post-damage evaluations, repair scopes, temporary support systems, repair analysis, and structural or foundation designs.

• Oversee multiple projects within a fast-paced, detail-oriented setting.

• Create and present technical and educational presentations for clients and prospective client groups.

• Serve as a keynote speaker at technical conferences.

• Enhance professional and technical expertise through ongoing education, technical publications, and writing technical papers.

• Compose technical reports detailing scientific findings and conclusions for a general audience.

• Provide support during depositions and trials by offering testimony.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Civil, Mechanical, or related Engineering fields.

• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Over 10 years of experience in forensic engineering and consulting, or relevant industry experience.

• Strong foundation in, or eagerness to learn, essential software programs for incident evaluation.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• Open-minded analytical abilities.

• A strong desire to investigate physical evidence.

• General Contractor license is highly preferred.

• Experience serving as an expert witness and providing testimony is strongly preferred.

• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
