Principal Specialist, Procurement

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Oversee a high-volume procurement desk in a dynamic setting while achieving accuracy and performance benchmarks.

• Draft and distribute RFPs and manage the PR-to-PO process.

• Conduct price and cost analysis, and issue Firm Fixed Price contracts, Letter Subcontracts, and cost-type purchase orders in compliance with FAR/DFARS.

• Actively manage suppliers to guarantee timely delivery through precise status updates, oversight, and recovery efforts.

• Provide leadership with root cause analyses and corrective actions based on metrics and supplier-related issues.

• Create negotiation strategies and lead formal discussions regarding price, delivery, scope, and terms and conditions.

• Collaborate with Program and functional teams, including Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Program Management.

• Travel as necessary and conduct onsite supplier evaluations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field with at least 3 years of experience.

• Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) or eligible to obtain the necessary export authorizations.

• U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite for accessing information under this program/contract.

• A Master’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.

• Experience in development-type procurement is advantageous.

• Experience managing a high-volume, fast-paced procurement desk is preferred.

• Familiarity with an SAP-based environment is preferred.

• Knowledge of the technical requirements for procured hardware and services, including SOW, build-to-spec, and build-to-print procurements is preferred.

• Experience in implementing and executing supplier recovery efforts is preferred.

• Knowledge of executing FFP and Cost Plus Fixed Fee contracts is preferred.

• Familiarity with ITAR regulations is preferred.

• Proven knowledge and compliance with FAR/DFARS regulations is preferred.

• Experience with written contractual authorizations and vehicles is preferred.

• Experience assessing proposal compliance under FAR 15.4 is preferred.

• Willingness to travel as necessary, up to 30%.
