This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as a trusted advisor for clients within designated target accounts.
• Formulate both short-term and long-term solution strategies.
• Assist sales segments in selling intricate technology solution sets that include hardware, software, and services.
• Establish and nurture relationships with Account Managers, COE teams, vendors, and customers.
• Oversee complex solution sales, which encompass deal registration, qualification, vendor relationships, solution development, negotiations, presentations, and win/loss reviews.
• Showcase Connection's capabilities along with the advantages of its solutions and services.
• Organize and lead customer meetings to identify opportunities and cultivate long-term relationships.
• Sustain and expand key accounts while also developing new business accounts.
• Create account strategies aimed at achieving revenue and gross-profit objectives.
• Meet weekly or bi-weekly with Sales management to discuss business and account strategies and pipeline.
• Discover new business opportunities within existing accounts.
• Complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly administrative tasks, including expense management and calendar/pipeline reporting.
• Prepare business reviews and tailor customer presentations.
• Collaborate with manufacturer field representatives to penetrate accounts and secure business.
• Share best practices, mentor colleagues, and enhance team skills and morale.
• Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
• No employment visa sponsorship or sponsorship transfer is available.
• 10+ years of experience in a comparable role, or an IT Director-level position with consultative, solution-focused IT experience and advisory in a solution sales context.
• Strong technical expertise in IT and OEM vendors.
• In-depth knowledge of datacenter technology and solutions, including networking, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud, and managed, professional, and consulting services.
• Proven experience in proactively identifying business opportunities within an existing customer base.
• Demonstrated success in IT sales, developing, and expanding customer accounts while meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong skills in business development and account maturation.
• Proven sales leadership abilities.
• Excellent execution, written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Capability to ask insightful questions to uncover underlying issues.
• Proficient listening, organizational, time management, documentation, scheduling, and performance-monitoring skills.
• Ability to learn new concepts with minimal guidance or training.
• Strategic planning capabilities.
• Ability to mentor and develop team members.
• Relevant partner, industry, and professional certifications for focused, growth, and emerging partners.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, including presentations, advanced Word formatting, spreadsheets, and macros.
• Ideal candidate should be located in the central states.
• Willingness to travel 25–50%, primarily to the Texas region.
