This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +3 more states.
• Enhance current flight software to support new missions.
• Assist in the creation of new satellite flight software for U.S. satellite systems.
• Design in-house tools for analyzing flight software performance and evaluating compatibility with new missions and CONOPS.
• Create and implement flight software tests at the unit, module, subsystem, and platform levels.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to facilitate installation on hardware-in-the-loop test setups and eventually flight hardware.
• Engage in anomaly resolution and make patches to existing flight software.
• Contribute to systems and mission-level modeling and simulation tools.
• Develop payload software models for ground testing purposes.
• Assist in the development of satellite platform software models, ensuring accurate representation of flight software.
• Participate in internal and customer/vendor working groups.
• Support proposal writing and new business initiatives.
• Evaluate software impacts resulting from new hardware, CONOPS, and missions.
• A Bachelor's degree in STEM or a related scientific field is required.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 12 years with a Master's degree.
• Demonstrated experience with space hardware and/or flight software systems throughout the product lifecycle.
• Proficient in C/C++ programming.
• Specialized knowledge in one or more areas: embedded software development, BSP development, device driver development, software/hardware interfaces, new board bring-up, RTOS programming/debugging/testing, cybersecurity for space systems, GNC algorithms, functional validation on HITL/SITL test beds, software safety assurance, network topology/configuration, simulators, software requirements, and configuration management.
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
• Capability to obtain and maintain a Government security clearance.
• An active DoD security clearance at Secret or above is highly preferred.
• Willingness to travel periodically, less than 20%, to U.S. facilities or partner companies.
